This American actress and model was born in South Carolina, but her hometown is Charlotte, North Carolina. During most of her early childhood she and her family kept moving back and forth between North and South Carolina. Ever since her childhood, Jessica wanted to become an actress. Stroup started modeling at the age of fifteen. Even though she got a scholarship to University of Georgia, she declined the opportunity to pursue a career in acting. At the age of seventeen the actress decided to move to Los Angeles, and put a step forward for her dream career of acting and modeling.

Her first acting job was a guest role in 2005. She guest starred on Nickelodeon teen series “Unfabulous”. Same year, she managed to get a small role in the film “Vampire Bats”. Later she played a supporting role in the TV Pilot “Southern Comfort”.

Her first feature film, to hit theatres, was “School for Scoundrels” in 2006. In the same year, she also worked in other three films named “Broken”, “Left in darkness” and “Pray for Morning”. In 2007, she guest appeared in series like “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Zoey 101″ and “October Road”. In 2007, sequel film “The Hills Have Eyes II”, she worked alongside Heather Graham, with whom she has a kissing scene in Movie “Broken”. She also appeared in film “This Christmas” in the same year.

She was a part of the series “Reaper” in 2007-2008 and did the role of Cady. She played the part of Claire in the remake of “Prom Night”. In 2008, she appeared in two more films, “Homecoming” and “The Informers”. She also joined the TV series “True Blood” in 2008.
